Newsletter - Week 3 Term 2
Greenmeadows School 20th May 2021
Principal's Message
The run of dry and reasonably warm weather continues with the occasional windy days. Thanks to everyone for their understanding when the very strong winds arrived on Tuesday.
Our trial of the change to end of the day bells seems to be going well. The church carpark on Osier Road is still much safer than the days when we were all released at 3.00pm. We appreciate everyone making the effort to be calm and patient when looking for car parks. Many thanks.
Our Newest Arrivals at GMS
Lincoln Halford, Nikhita Patel and Emmerson Steyn are all settling in beautifully as part of our school.
We currently have 467 children enrolled.

Visitors to School Policy
The main points to note when visiting school are:-
All visitors to the site, including parents, sports coaches, parent help etc are asked to report to the school office and record their visit by signing in on our VisTab system.
This does not include parents picking up or dropping off their children at the beginning or end of the school day.
We also ask that visitors scan the NZ COVID QR poster or manually on the contact tracing register in the school office.
Feed the Bus Donations- Napier Foodbank
We had an amazing response to our request for donations to support the Napier Foodbank. The Bus came and collected our donations on Tuesday and were overwhelmed at our school community's generosity. So a big thanks to all the famillies out there that supported the cause.
Pink Shirt Day - This Friday 21st May
Who can find a pink shirt???? No need to bring money, just show your support.
If you can not wear anything pink to school, come in uniform please ... we will have a mufti day later on in the term.
Pohutukawa Aquatics
When the Pohutukawa classes go swimming later on in Term 2 we are also wanting to use the vans again - but we need some drivers to assist. Would any parents be interested in driving a van? It involves driving from 9.00am until 12.30pm. All you need is a current car driver's license.
Let the office know if you are interested in putting your name forward. Many thanks.
Yummy’ School Sticker Promotion - Keep those stickers coming!!
What is it?
Our school has been registered in the 2021 Yummy Sticker Promotion. The Yummy stickers collected will be converted into a winning share of the $200,000 sports prize pool from 'DG Sport'.
What to do?
Shop at your local New World, Pak’n'Save and participating Four Square stores. Purchase Yummy apples, either bags with:
* individual apples with Yummy stickers
* cut-out labels (one cut-out label is worth 10 apple stickers).
Send the stickers into school to be placed on collection sheets in each class. However, if you would like your own collection sheet for home, please collect one from the school office.
What will happen?
At the end of Term 3 all collection sheets will be collated and sent off to the promoters and we will then be contacted to let us know how much we have to spend on sports equipment. Collection day will be Monday 27 September 2021.
The more we collect, the more sports gear we can order, so get going and start collecting your Yummy cut-out labels and stickers! It would be great if we could all get behind this and collect as many stickers as possible.
