General Information

I have been very fortunate to enjoy a successful and happy teaching career both back in South Africa for eleven years and now here in New Zealand for the past eleven years. We immigrated to New Zealand at the start of 1998 and I’ve been teaching here at Greenmeadows School ever since… the best little school in town! I was part of the Middle Syndicate team until the end of 2007 before I joined the Senior Syndicate team. I am currently teaching in Room 17 and I have a delightful class of Year 5 students this year. Although I reckon we have to be ‘Jacks and Jills of all trades’ delivering the NZ curriculum, I’m very passionate about the teaching of mathematics, literacy and art. The wonderful support of the staff, parents and students at our school makes teaching at GMS a real pleasure. In my leisure time I enjoy having coffee with my friends, entertaining people, gardening, relaxing with a good magazine, listening to any kind of music and watching my boys participate in their summer and winter sport. The latest addition to our family, our Bischon Frise puppy called Max, has certainly completed our chain of happiness here in New Zealand. Living and teaching here in sunny Hawkes Bay is definitely something to celebrate!
